Tyler's 12 Month Birthday

I am in disbelief that we officially have a 1 year old! It has been so amazing to see how much Tyler has learned in the past 12 months. He has the most friendly and outgoing personality and will wave at everyone he sees. He is always a hit when we go run errands :).  I love how friendly he is and hope that this is a trait that sticks with him forever.
At the beginning of the month, Tyler was obsessed with pushing anything and everything he could find.

Over Mother's Day weekend, he started taking his first steps. This past week he actually started standing up (without holding on to anything) and taking steps which shows me he is starting to choose to walk instead of crawl. He still crawls most of the time but is showing that he is trying. It is hilarious to see how he starts to "perform" when I pull out my real camera and not just the iPhone.

(Yes, he is holding on to a medicine syringe. It is one of his favorite "toys".)

He still loves to be outside and now has started standing at the back door trying to move the door knob. He also knows where I keep the quilt we sit on in the front yard and will go and pull it out of the cabinet. We had out backyard "updated" by getting a new fence and re-doing the back patio. We will be spending a lot of time out there this summer!

He is still getting into everything! He sure does love to make a mess. Some of his favorite things to play with are my hairbrush, his toothbrush, mommy or daddy's shoes, clothes hanger, toilet paper, and his medicine syringe.

He still is a great eater! This kids loves to eat...especially pickles and bananas. I have had to hide the bananas because he goes crazy if he sees them sitting on the counter. I don't know what I am going to do to keep this kid fed when he is a teenager!

Tyler has recently become very interested in books. He loves to turn the pages and wants to be read to all the time and wants the same book read over and over and over and.....

He has also developed a little bit of a curl...it is the most precious thing I have ever seen!

We loved having Brian home for a 3 day weekend celebrating the last days of Tyler as a baby. Tyler is a big fan of anything outside so we did a little swimming, feeding the ducks, visited an aquarium, and spent time in the backyard.

We love you so much Tyler and can't believe how much joy you have brought to our lives. There have been many hard days but it has all been worth it in the end! I can't wait to watch you grow into a little man.

Height: 30 1/2 inches (75th%)
Weight: 20 lb 6.5 oz (18th%)
Food: He is almost completely weaned. He isn't in love with the taste of cows milk but he will at least drink some when I mix a little chocolate syrup :). Still holding strong with 10 teeth!
Sleep: Bedtime is 7:30 and he usually wakes up between 6 and 7. He takes 2 naps (8:30am and 1:30pm) that last 1-2 hours
Clothes: 9 months (pants only), 12 month, some 12-18 month (shirts only)
Likes: shaking any toy that makes noise, soccer balls, trying to walk, books, dogs, sitting in the drivers seat and playing with the steering wheel
Dislikes: Whenever I take something away from him. We are entering in to the "fit throwing" stage. :) He also isn't the biggest fan of the carseat again.
Words: ma-ma, da-da, ball, dog, bye bye, no-no
Favorite Mommy Moment: Watching Tyler take his first steps and how much he loves to wave "bye-bye" when Daddy leaves for work. I also love seeing how friendly he is towards others.

Tyler's 11 Month Birthday

This month has been so much fun!!! Before having kids, I used to say that 6 months was my favorite age for babies. After having a kid of my own I realize I had no idea what I was talking about :). This month has hands down been the most fun month yet. Tyler is so much fun!

Tyler and I spent Easter in Temple and had a chance to get some bluebonnet pictures. He wasn't really that excited about it but we got a few cute ones.
Maybe next year he will be a little more excited :).

He loved spending time with Tanner over Easter.

Here are some "happy" pictures of Tyler. I know I keep saying this but we have had just the best time this past month and I want to remember these sweet times with my little man.

Tyler is still not walking on his own but he loves pushing his toy around the house. He can stand on his own for a few seconds and then falls down. I'm thinking it will be a few more months until he can walk but he is so proud of himself pushing that thing around!

Tyler is a little bit of a wild man. He loves to climb on EVERYTHING!

One of my favorite things is when he makes a mad dash for his tent. He thinks its the best hiding spot. He has also started trying to hide from me and pop out laughing when I say peek-a-boo.

He also loves being in water. We struggled with bath time for the first few months but now he loves being in the water and has even started trying to blow bubbles. We bought him a small inflatable pool and when he sees it in the backyard he just squeals. He has only been able to get in it twice since the weather keeps getting cold. The other day he was so adamant about getting in I just put him in the water pj's and all. I can't wait for the summer to get here so I can take him to a real pool :).

Any yes that is an "Angry Bird" swimming pool. Brian informed me that all the other pools were too "girlie" so that's the best I could do.

Another highlight of this month was the birth of Samson Roitsch (Charles and Jordie's little man). Even though they are moving away to Alabama for residency in May, we look forward to visiting them and taking these two kids to the beach together!

Best friends with their babies!

What an amazing month it has been. I love my family!

Food: Breastfeeding 4 times a day, eating 3 meals a day. 8 teeth (4 on top, 4 on bottom) and currently cutting through 2 molars on top
Sleep: Bedtime is 7:30 and he usually wakes up between 6 and 7. He takes 2 naps (8:30am & 1:30pm) that last 1-2 hours
Clothes: 12 month, some 12-18 month (just for shirts)
Likes: Playing peek-a-boo, hiding from me in his tent, goldfish!, bathtime, being outside, playing in his swimming pool, walking behind his toys that roll, books
Dislikes: He has had such a happy month :).
Favorite Mommy Moment: It is so much fun playing with this kid! He loves to "run" away from me and hide and thinks it is hilarious when I "find" him. He has also learned to say "mama", "dada", and "mo-mo" for more.
