Tyler is 2

I can't believe my baby is 2! We had such a fun time celebrating on his actual birthday as well as this weekend. The morning of his birthday I made him waffles and let him watch a movie in my bed. He loved blowing out his candle.

We met up with Brian for lunch and then headed over to Toys R Us to pick out his birthday presents. He picked a t-ball set, Jake and the Neverland Pirates book, and Bubble Guppie bath toys.

That night we headed to Shakes! It has become a birthday tradition to go here and take a family picture.

We ended up having his birthday party the following weekend because many of our friends and family are out of town Memorial Day weekend. We went with a camping theme but last minute added some water toys because it was SO hot!! It turned out great and the kids had a blast!
Welcome to "Camp Tyler"

All of our fun neighbors!

Giving Grant the video camera…bad idea!

Grammy and Hadley

This is what I call camping in style!

Getting Tyler to smile for a picture lately is almost impossible. I consider it a win just to have him looking in the direction of the camera :).

Poor Audrey is not impressed with Tyler saying "pow pow" at her. HA!

Tyler had so much fun at his party. He woke up the next morning saying "more presents". YIKES! Happy Birthday Tyler! We love you so much and look forward to the next year watching you grow up!

Here are Tyler's 2 year stats:
Weight: 28.3 lb (50th%)
Height: 35in (73rd%)
Head: 49.5cm (75th%)

Family Trip to Austin

The week before Memorial Day weekend, Brian and I realized that we had no plans the entire weekend  so we decided to go somewhere. We started researching flights but they were outrageous so Austin is the destination we decided on.

Friday we braved the holiday traffic and made it to Austin around 10:30 with Tyler wide awake in the backseat. You put a dvd on and this kid is glued!

We stayed at the Embassy Suites and it was awesome! Any hotel room with a door separating the "living space" from the bedroom is any parents dream! Tyler was a big fan too because there was an indoor pond full of fish. We had to visit them multiple times a day.

Saturday morning we headed to Everly's 2nd birthday party. These two are exactly one week apart in age so it was fun to see them together.

After nap time we headed to Zilker Park to meet up with my parents. We rode the train and then headed to dinner. The restaurant had a live band so Tyler basically danced for 30 minutes straight while we waited for a table. He loved it!

A restaurant with live music and a playground is genius!

Sunday morning we headed to the new children's museum called The Thinkery. Let me just say…it is amazing and puts the Perot to shame! Tyler played in the water room, "cooked", read books, painted, played in the light room, built and then shot a rocket, climbed, and played in the outdoor pond. We ended up leaving with Tyler only in a diaper because he was soaked! So much fun!

Sunday evening we were so excited to go over to Steve and Courtney's house and then to dinner. Tyler and Everly were such good sports as we made them pose for lots of pictures together. :)

Watching Daniel Tiger on mommy's phone :) We kept them out way past bedtime!

Monday morning on our way out of town we were able to grab breakfast with Justin, Leslie, and Logan. Every picture we tried to take of these two was blurry…BOYS!

We are so thankful that we had the chance to take a little family vacation as well as catch up with some of our friends. Cant wait to visit again!

Mother's Day

Almost 2 years ago this little man made me a mommy and I am so blessed because of it.

Tyler started my day off by coming in my room to say "Happy Mother's Day". It was the most precious thing! Brian made a yummy breakfast!

I'm 30!!!

It is crazy to think that I am officially 30 years old. When I think of my age I still feel like I am 24 so I guess thats good. :) My actual birthday fell on Thursday so we headed to lunch with Poppa, Kali, and Hadley.
That evening when Brian came home from work we headed out for a family game of putt putt. Tyler was way more interested in the pond, the animal statues, whacking the balls, the bushes… :) However, it was a fun family outing for my birthday. Tyler (and Brian) also gave me a bag with some of my favorite things.

Brian took me out for an amazing dinner over the weekend to a restaurant in Klyde Warren Park called Savor. It was the most perfect night to sit outside, the food was amazing, and the people watching was even better!

A couple weeks after we had the chance to celebrate with our closest friends and family. We hosted the party at our house and brought in Chuy's and rented a margarita machine. It is always so fun being around good friends…and good margaritas :).

After such a fun party I look forward to turning 31 and doing this all over again!
