Trip to Aggieland

Brian was heading to A&M for a couple days to do interviews for his company so Tyler and I tagged along. We took Tyler to A&M for the LSU game last year but he was only about 4 months old and we were in an out just for the game. This time I was excited to take Tyler to all the important landmarks :). We started off the first day at The Children's Museum in Bryan. I used to volunteer here in college for one of my education classes so it was fun bringing my son there to play. He LOVED it and there were only 3 other kids there the entire time.

After nap time in the hotel room we headed to campus!
Rudder Fountain

Checking out Academic Plaza

Century Tree....a must!

Then we headed to the MSC which is completely different from when I was there. We found this gigantic Reveille dog and Tyler was loving it! I had originally wanted to take him into the Flag room at the MSC but it was full of students studying and sleeping so I wasn't about to take my loud 1 year old in there! We did a quick walk by and then headed over to the stadium.

This is Tyler breaking into the sacred burial grounds of previous Reveille's. I was trying to get his picture with the stadium in the background but he kept running under the rope. He thought it was hilarious...I was thinking we were going to get kicked off campus.

This will be a fun picture for when Tyler get his Aggie ring in...20 years!

Stay-cation @ Great Wolf Lodge

This year my parents took us to Great Wolf Lodge for a stay-cation and it was so much fun! My sister is pregnant and due to have Hadley on October 28th so we had to stay somewhere close. I headed over to Great Wolf after Tyler's nap to meet up with Grant to get us all checked in. Tyler was in awe....and continued to run around squealing and yelling "wa-wa" pretty much the entire time we were there. Here are some pictures from the weekend.
They do a great job of catering the hotel to families and Tanner LOVED his "room" (aka bunk beds). Tyler loved climbing up to the top bunk with him!

Tanner is practicing standing on his tip-toes so he would be tall enough to ride the big slides. Sadly, he didn't get away with it. Next year buddy!

Every night at 8 they have story time. Tyler's favorite part was the talking moose. Again...Tyler wouldn't stay still for me to get a good pic. At least I can document the cute matching pjs!
Story time with Grammy.

Yes...this is what my family does on vacation. They decided they needed "cute" pjs too.
Attempt at a family picture but Tyler was not having it.

The boys playing games in the arcade. I spy Hadley ;)

Tyler's room/corner. Thankfully there was a small partition between the sitting area and our bed so he couldn't see us. He slept great while we were there thankfully!
Dinner at a hibachi grill!
Can you find Brian & Tyler?

Tyler loved floating on his back in the hot tub!
Also notice my parents in the tube! The grownups had to have a little fun of their own and go down the big slides. It was so fun!

Thanks to my parents for a great weekend at Great Wolf Lodge!

Tyler-15 Months

I wont be doing my monthly posts anymore since Tyler is past the 1 year mark. Let's be honest, he is probably the only child of mine that will have such detailed blog posts anyways. (Sorry to my future children.) I will try my best but I am not making any promises. However, I do want to remember the fun things he is doing at each stage so my posts will probably coincide with his wellness checkups.

Here are his stats from our 15 month checkup:
Weight: 21 lb 6 oz (10th %)
Height: 31 3/4 in (75th %)
Head: 47.5 cm (60th)

Tyler officially HATES going to the doctor so we are just happy to get in and out as quickly as possible! You better believe I bring a bag (yes, a bag) full of his favorite toys hoping it will help but it never does. At least I tried...

We are also officially done with the paci (other than naps and nighttime sleep) and Tyler has done awesome! I was terrified to pull the plug but he doesn't seem to miss it.

Tyler is pretty verbal for his age (at least that is what they tell me). Don't get me wrong...we are not speaking in sentences! However, he does love learning new words and "reading" books. Look at this precious pictures. As a former kindergarten teacher it makes me proud:).

It is so fun to see his little personality and boy does he have one! He is such a silly kid and it is so fun to be silly with him. Here are some pictures from the past few months.

"HATS"

Fun with Tanner-man cruising for chicks! This is his new favorite face that he makes ALL THE TIME!

He loves drinking from the hose and "diving" into his ball pit!

Just eating a rock...no big deal.

We love you so much Tyler and think you are just the most precious little boy ever! You are so full of life and keep us on our toes. We are so thankful to be your parents.

Brian's 29th Birthday/Labor Day Weekend

We had an amazing Labor Day weekend celebrating Brian's birthday! Saturday morning started out with cuddles while watching Despicable Me and then we went to Mamas Daughters Diner for breakfast.

Brian got a new car this past week so we worked on cleaning out his old car to get ready to sell. Tyler loves climbing around inside his daddy's car! Tyler is at such a fun stage and loves to "help" Brian with all the around the house chores especially watering the trees! Our little man is such a talker and loves to walk run everywhere he goes.

We will be sad to see his car go but we our bank account will not miss the awful gas mileage and expensive premium gas!

Brian's parents took us out to lunch for his birthday at one of our favorite spots, Newks! Tyler was slightly traumatized from a mishap with the high chair. When we put him in the high chair we didn't realize that the strap didn't go between his legs so both of this legs were on one side (plus I didn't tie the strap around his waist...gosh this makes me sound so bad!). That doesn't work so great since my child likes to recline a little...and he just slipped right through the high chair almost to the floor. Luckily, I caught him by his hands and finally wiggled him out. Poor guy had a bloody nose and was really upset. Lesson learned...always check to make sure the strap goes between his legs and now I will use the waist strap too.

Watching Aggie football

New birthday tradition...Shakes!

Later that evening Brian and I went to Cane Rosso by White Rock Lake, which if you have never been there I would highly recommend it!
Monday we dropped Tyler off at Mimi and Pops and headed to my favorite place Spa Habitat for a foot treatment, facial, and massage. Brian had to build this tower for Tyler before we left. I'm still not so sure it was "for Tyler" but instead "for Brian" but whatever!

This was the room we were in...amazing! This was my Mother's Day gift that we just now got around to doing. Heaven!

Happy Birthday Brian! Every year I realize more and more how amazing I really have it being married to this man. I love that he is a hard worker. Whether it is at home or at work, he is always getting things done. Lazy is never a word that I would use to describe him! He is so great with Tyler and loves to play with him. I am so thankful that Tyler will grow up with this man as his daddy! I love that he is always thinking about how to best take care of us whether that be financially, spiritually, or emotionally. I love you Brian and look forward to what your 29th year holds!
