This song brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it or sing it at church. I think that is because this song creates such a longing in my soul for the day when Christ returns or chooses to bring me home. Because of sin, the world and everything in it has been fractured. As a believer in Jesus Christ, I know that I am a slave to sin and it is only through the saving grace that the Lord has given me, that I have life and meaning. This song is such a good reminder that I should keep my eyes focused on Christ.
It says in Romans 8:22-24 "For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now. And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for the adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved." I encourage you to read through the lyrics and watch the video. I hope it touches you as much as it has touched me.
On that day when I see
All that You have for me
When I see You face to face
There surrounded by Your grace
All my fears swept away
In the light of your embrace
When Your love is all I need
And forever I am free
Where the streets are made of gold
In Your presence here to hold
Let these songs of heaven rise to you alone
No weeping, no hurt or pain
No suff'ring You hold me now
You hold me now
No darkness no sickening
No hiding You hold me now,
You hold me now
In this life fin'lly stand
Through my joy and my pain
Knowing there's a greater day
There's a hope that never fails
When You're name is lifted high
And forever praises last
For the glory of Your Name
I'll be livin' for the day
When the world has finally cease
All creation rest in peace
Let these songs of heaven rise to you alone
No weeping, no hurt or pain
No suff'ring You hold me now
You hold me now
No darkness no sickening
No hiding You hold me now,
You hold me now
For eternity
All my heart will give
All the glory to Your name
Your kingdom come
Your will be done
Here on earth as it is in Heaven

I love how centered your life is on the Savior. You're a great example (both of you) to everyone around. I too look forward to the day Christ returns.
