Tyler's 7 Month Birthday

This was such a fun month with our little man. I am having trouble remembering much of December other than our Christmas celebrations :). To see pics and hear about Christmas 2012 click HERE. Tyler is getting really good at sitting up and usually only falls over if he is reaching for a toy. I am going to be so much more nervous when he gets his helmet off...it brings me such a peace of mind knowing he has a little "cushion" between his head and the floor.

New daddies (Brian and Nate) got to spend the afternoon on daddy duty while the mommies (Taylor and  Jenny) did a little Christmas shopping.
Daddy dressed me for church and was very proud of himself. He did good!
Where's Tyler?! I guess his name is big letters is a dead giveaway...

Sweetest face ever!!!

Tyler is starting to attempt to "crawl". He can lift his body up but usually ends up scooting himself backwards. Every day he gets better and better at lifting himself up...he just needs to figure out how to gets his legs underneath himself.

Going backwards...

One of the hardest things about this month was Tyler's first real sickness. He was kind of off during all of our Christmas celebrations so we were hopefully that once we got back to our house and on our schedule that things would get better....wrong. They got worse! December 27th, Tyler woke up with a fever (102.7) and it stayed until he woke up on the 28th. We could not get this kid to nap. We tried walking around, bouncing, rocking, warm bath, letting him cry, and nothing worked. Finally we resorted to the car...I think we should have asked for gas cards and credit on our toll tag instead of gifts this year. After driving around for over an hour he had only fallen asleep for about 20 minutes. It took us 3 hours to get him to sleep for the night...mom and dad were mentally and emotionally drained! Friday morning I called the doctor and the first available appointment wasn't until 3:50. The doctor confirmed that there was something wrong...herpaniga. Basically he has blister looking things on the back of his throat which is painful and makes it hard to swallow. Poor baby! The doctor told us to mix together 1/4 tsp Benadryl and 1/4 tsp Maalox to help coat his throat and help him sleep. It has been so helpful!
Sick baby
A few months ago I wrote about Tyler having to get a helmet (aka Doc Band) because of some flatness on the back of his head. We got some good news at our last appointment...the helmet is coming off January 7th. :)

Food: Still breastfeeding every 3-4 hours (6:30, 10:30, 1:30, 4:30, 7:30) and baby food 2-3 times a day. He loves pretty much everything I feed him as long as there is some type of fruit mixed in :). He really loves bananas and mango!
Sleep: 3 naps every day. We don't have a set time for the naps but he takes about an hour long nap between each feeding except the last two. He has also stopped taking his pacifier to sleep and now uses his thumb. I am thankful that I won't have to wean him off the paci when he is a toddler!
Clothes: 6-9 months
Likes: Smiling, laughings, sitting up, sticking his tongue out, chewing/sucking on mommy's scarves
Dislikes: Getting out of the bathtub and getting all lotion-ed up.
Favorite Mommy Moment: Since Brian took a week off during Christmas I gave him the job of getting Tyler to sleep for nap time. There were a few times that Brian fell asleep rocking Tyler so they would just nap together for like an hour and a half. So sweet for this mommy to see!
