I am in disbelief that we officially have a 1 year old! It has been so amazing to see how much Tyler has learned in the past 12 months. He has the most friendly and outgoing personality and will wave at everyone he sees. He is always a hit when we go run errands :). I love how friendly he is and hope that this is a trait that sticks with him forever.
At the beginning of the month, Tyler was obsessed with pushing anything and everything he could find.
Over Mother's Day weekend, he started taking his first steps. This past week he actually started standing up (without holding on to anything) and taking steps which shows me he is starting to choose to walk instead of crawl. He still crawls most of the time but is showing that he is trying. It is hilarious to see how he starts to "perform" when I pull out my real camera and not just the iPhone.
(Yes, he is holding on to a medicine syringe. It is one of his favorite "toys".)
He still loves to be outside and now has started standing at the back door trying to move the door knob. He also knows where I keep the quilt we sit on in the front yard and will go and pull it out of the cabinet. We had out backyard "updated" by getting a new fence and re-doing the back patio. We will be spending a lot of time out there this summer!
He is still getting into everything! He sure does love to make a mess. Some of his favorite things to play with are my hairbrush, his toothbrush, mommy or daddy's shoes, clothes hanger, toilet paper, and his medicine syringe.
He still is a great eater! This kids loves to eat...especially pickles and bananas. I have had to hide the bananas because he goes crazy if he sees them sitting on the counter. I don't know what I am going to do to keep this kid fed when he is a teenager!
Tyler has recently become very interested in books. He loves to turn the pages and wants to be read to all the time and wants the same book read over and over and over and.....
He has also developed a little bit of a curl...it is the most precious thing I have ever seen!
We loved having Brian home for a 3 day weekend celebrating the last days of Tyler as a baby. Tyler is a big fan of anything outside so we did a little swimming, feeding the ducks, visited an aquarium, and spent time in the backyard.
We love you so much Tyler and can't believe how much joy you have brought to our lives. There have been many hard days but it has all been worth it in the end! I can't wait to watch you grow into a little man.
Height: 30 1/2 inches (75th%)
Weight: 20 lb 6.5 oz (18th%)
Food: He is almost completely weaned. He isn't in love with the taste of cows milk but he will at least drink some when I mix a little chocolate syrup :). Still holding strong with 10 teeth!

Likes: shaking any toy that makes noise, soccer balls, trying to walk, books, dogs, sitting in the drivers seat and playing with the steering wheel
Dislikes: Whenever I take something away from him. We are entering in to the "fit throwing" stage. :) He also isn't the biggest fan of the carseat again.
Words: ma-ma, da-da, ball, dog, bye bye, no-no
Love him and those curls! I'm dying...to cute!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, Tyler! He looks so proud of himself in the pictures where he is standing/ walking. And Carter is obsessed with his syringe, too!
