Visiting Grammy and iPop in NYC

Ever since my parents moved to NYC I have been looking forward to taking a family trip to visit them. I was so excited to show my kids the big city! It is such a magical place to visit and having it all decorated for Christmas was just perfect.

Ready to get on the airplane!

Back row of the airplane is where it is at! :) Both kids did great...Eisley was a lot of work to keep happy but we survived.

We used Uber to get us from the airport to my parents apartment and requested a car seat. Well...what they showed up with was so not safe to put Eisley in so we used it for Tyler and Brian held Eisley nice and tight! Thankfully she slept the whole drive there.

We have ARRIVED! Heading up to my parents apartment in a very small elevator!

We dropped our bags off and headed out on the town. Tyler's #1 thing was that he wanted to ride a subway so that's what we did. We headed down to Columbus Circle to see some lights and grabbed a pretzel. We were so happy to be in NYC!

Eisley was an amazing baby the entire trip! However, she will be making this very unimpressed face the entire trip! :)

Scott and Adrian happened to be in NYC the same weekend we were there (without their kids) so we met up with them for dessert and drinks.

Saturday morning we hung out around the apartment so Eisley could get her morning nap. Tyler loved reading books and playing puzzles with my dad!

Once Eisley woke up we headed to Times Square to go to Toys R Us. It was madness down there! So many people! Here we are waiting in line to ride the ferris wheel. About 2 minutes after I took this picture the cookie Tyler was eating broke in half and it was all downhill from there. M.E.L.T.D.O.W.N
The pictures look so happy but Brian and I were thinking GET US OFF THIS THING AND OUT OF HERE! :) But happy faces of the camera!

Smiling for the picture but thinking "Get us out of here!" Now I know why people who live in NYC avoid Times Square if they can!

Even though Eisley almost never smiled for a picture she did wave at just about every single person we walked past. She is such a friendly baby and I love it! How can a sweet waving baby not brighten your day?!

Headed home for Tyler to get a nap...clearly it worked.

That evening we headed to Lincoln Center for the Big Apple Circus! It was the cutest little circus with all kinds of cool acrobatics! Tyler loved it but was super tired...refer to the "napping picture" above.

This was everyone's favorite part. Well...I couldn't watch because I was terrified they would fall. Tyler kept saying "This is dangerous. Let's go back to Grammy and iPop's building." HA!

Sunday we spent the day in Central Park and it was my favorite part of the trip. The weather was perfect and the leaves were still so colorful! Perfect NYC day!

Tyler's favorite part of Central Park was all of the rocks there were to climb!

Haha...come on Eisley! Smile!!!

Central Park Zoo

We had been watching Home Alone 2 because it is set in NYC. Tyler was determined we would catch the "Sticky Bandits" and see Kevin while in NYC so of course we had to check out The Plaza Hotel. Here is Tyler's "Home Alone" face.

Picnic in the park

My parents gave us a date night for Christmas. We ate dinner at Lincoln Square Steak House followed by drinks at The Campbell Apartment that is tucked away in Grand Central Station.

Monday morning we headed to Bryant Park to do some ice skating.

So Eisley has also started this "I only want mommy" phase....obviously!

But she can be easily distracted!

We headed back to my parents apartment for some down time. Tyler is in his happy place...the subway!

We took a walk through Riverside Park before heading to dinner on our last night in NYC.

Oh and excuse Eisley's random pink socks. They are the only ones that stay on!

After dinner we walked past Radio City Music Hall and then down 5th Avenue. Perfect end to our trip!

Merry Christmas (early) from NYC!

Eisley fell asleep on the flight home and Tyler fell asleep about 5 minutes after we got in the car to drive home.

We can't wait to visit again!
