Well we have officially wrapped up our summer 2014 family vacations! This past week we spent 5 days in Beavers Bend, OK with the Pattillo side of the family. Our time was filled with hot tubing, playing with our cousins, hiking, rock throwing, and lots of fun. Everyone arrived on Wednesday afternoon/evening so we spend most of the day traveling and unpacking. We came to this same spot 2 years ago with my family so it was fun coming back having a little idea of what there is to do there. It is truly a beautiful place and only about 3 hours away! Perfect when driving with little kids :).
Thursday morning we headed into the state park to ride the train through the woods and then played on the playground. We had fun looking for animals and actually saw lots of deer.
Since going to New Mexico with my family, Tyler has developed a new love for all things hot tub! We spend a lot of time (in short 10 min increments since it was hot) playing in the hot tub.
That night we had cousin movie night and watched Madagascar which is Tyler's favorite movie. He was just too excited to sit and watch the movie though. He spent most of the time jumping on the couch, jumping off the couch, looking at Jackson and Will, and running around the room. :)
The next morning we headed out to the lake to do a little paddle boating, canoeing, rock throwing, and fishing. I was amazed that Tyler actually would wear a life jacket! He had run pretending to be Cubbie on his pirate ship Buckey. :)
Daddy dipping Tyler in the really cold water. He loved it!
Tyler and Will LOVED throwing rocks into the water!
Tyler has my attention span for fishing...about 10 minutes. He didn't understand why we didn't catch a fish the second we put the pole in the water. I guess fishing in a stocked pond in New Mexico confused him :).
Saturday morning it was sprinkling and cool so we decided to take a hike. Thankfully the trees blocked us from getting too wet and the boys loved pretending to be Davy Crocket!
This pretty much sums up all three boys. Jackson is the thinker and Tyler and Will are the silly/crazies!
Everyone wanted to help hold Pop's hiking stick.
We found a really cool hollow tree!
The next morning we packed up and headed out. We had a great summer with 2 fantastic vacations with our families!
